Everyday I wake up first thing I do in morning is I open google trends to see what's trending in India today?
And I'm doing this for last 5-6 months.
And after this 5-6 months practise of keeping myself in touch with what's happening in my country I can only say it's boring and annoying how things follow same pattern in this country.
Here is a list of things that always gets searched most in India every single day with slight changes here and there :-
A.) Some Bollywood Actress/movie
B.) Some cricketer/cricket match
C.) Current Indian Govt.
And here is my reasons why I hate these trends.
A.) Some Bollywood Actress/movie :-
I got nothing against them, I like Katrina Kaif too :P . And why shouldn't I ? These are all talented actresses who have good physical shape and know how to dance on catchy item numbers. And their acting. . . 'Wow' is the only word I can think for it. Each movie they act in is worth of an oscar award. In each movie they act they are playing the role of the love interest of the main lead (always a male except in one Indian movie 'Fire').
For Every movie they work in they do 4-5 dance numbers, and for rest of the movie they either stay out of the frame when main lead is killing/beating the local goons/thugs/terrorists/mafia boss/kangaroo/godzilla/. . . . .and what not, or just stand in a corner of such frames, all worried and celebrating each punch from the hero to the bad guy.
In the end if such 'show piece' kind of performances does'nt deserve an oscar nothing can.
My Advise:- just watch some t.v. commericals done by any Indian actress in middle of a w.w.e. fight show and for rest of your life their is no need to watch any bollywood movie.
B.) Some cricketer/cricket match :-
Sometimes Indian people be all sentimental and ask why India sucks in olympics/hockey world cups and any other major sporting event not related to cricket.
To be honest I don't know why it is so.
Because throughout the year I'm busy watching cricket, reading about cricket, listening about cricket, arguing with my colleagues about cricket. . . . .
Sometimes when I pee I wonder a great deal why my pee is just normal pee and not cricket pee?, because everything that goes in my system is always cricket and more cricket. Cricket endorsed by media, colleagues, family, friends/kid next door/cat in the backyard/dog in the front yard/girls in my basement they all talk cricket throughout the year. And I take it all in, helpless.
Not even a single corporate house endorse other sports like they endorse their I.P.L. teams, not even a single media house try to promote other games in their prime times.
And I wonder why even my shit is normal shit and not cricket shit when I'm fed cricket always?.
My Advise:- start watching/playing other games too for God's sake.
C.)Current Indian Govt. :-
Its cool to criticize any current govt.. Is'nt it?
Prices go up? (This govt. sucks.) Bad road conditions? (This govt. sucks.) Corruption arising? (This govt. sucks) Your daughter have a boyfriend? (This govt. sucks) Your son have a boyfriend? (what????)
If you ask me the truth YOU SUCK. And I suck too. And why? Because India is a democracy. .and if I'm right a democracy is run by a govt. elected by its voting population.
So let me ask you this straight:- Did you vote in last general election? Because during any major election people are given a public holiday for voting.
But for last general election in India in year 2009 voting percentage was just 59.7% .
40.3% just sat back at home watching t.v. Or went out shopping. If you are in those 40.3% non voting morons shut up and keep quite.
Like you can't criticize why other guy made a poor choice while selecting his girlfriend you can't criticize this govt. too, because its not a choice made by you, and you can't criticize other's choices
So just tie a rope to a tree branch and tie another end to your d*ck and swing all day long.
But If you were in those good 59.7% voting guys then congrats.
But did you vote for a good guy and not for your religion/caste/bribe/bottle of wine/money??
If you voted for a good candidate then congrats again. But if not so just shove a wooden peg in your rear end, tie a rope to it, tie ropes another end to a tree branch and take a swing all day day long.
Start voting. And start voting for a good candidate. Don't stay at home on voting days to watch cricket matches or bollywood movies because both these things are joke but democracy is not.
